Detailed Preparation

Our ability to deliver a long lasting finish is no secret; there’s no magic involved and no quick fix solution. We simply put more into preparing the surfaces that we decorate to create a perfect base. Here’s how:
  • Loose and flaking paint is removed with a range of sanding equipment and some good old elbow grease.
  • Surfaces are washed and treated to remove dust, dirt and contamination.
  • Bare timber surfaces are treated & protected before coating.
  • Metal posts are prepared with rust-inhibitive primer.
  • All gaps and nail holes are filled and sealed. Timber surface defects are also filled and sanded to a smooth surface.
This much preparation is of course messy, so we take every precaution to prevent debris and even notify your neighbours in advance:
  • Excluded surfaces are covered with protective drop clothes.
  • We follow all Health & Safety Regulations when dry sanding, attaching and laying plastic sheets to prevent dust travelling and catch falling debris.
  • Waste is collected and removed from site. Masking materials are also applied to prevent paint spatter.
  • All furniture and floors are covered with clean drop clothes.
Only when each surface has been prepared to our meticulous standards are we ready to start applying paint.
